At Anditi, we strongly value people, community and collaboration. We think that collaboration is a great way for like-minded people and organisations to achieve outcomes that wouldn’t be possible on their own.

That’s why when our Managing Director, Peter Jamieson, was approached in October 2016 to participate in a crowd funding campaign for the Women’s Pro Event at Newcastle international surfing festival Surfest 2017, we were quick to jump on board.

Unique in its success internationally as a crowd funding initiative, the Surfest Women’s Pro Event is funded through the financial contributions of businesses from across the Hunter. All contributing businesses go in the running to win naming rights to the event. Lending our support, along with 84 other businesses, to ensure the world’s female surfing elite can gather to compete along the Newcastle coastline was an obvious thing to do. What we hadn’t seriously considered was that we might actually win the naming rights!

Fast forward only a month, and Anditi’s ticket was drawn out of a barrel containing 84 other Hunter businesses, winning the right to officially name the event the ‘2017 Anditi Women’s Pro’. Peter was over the moon that Anditi was the company name to emerge first from the barrel.

“It’s really a thrill to be able to contribute to this iconic surf event and it’s just as big a thrill to be the business that has secured the naming rights for 2017. The add-on of a publicity budget and the resultant brand awareness is a fantastic bonus”

The team here at Anditi is ramping up for everything Surfest. As there is no challenge too big, we have been working on a collaboration with local data collection companies to create something special to demonstrate at the event, creating a fusion between spatial big data and surfing. The focus has been on using our cutting-edge technology to explore the coastline along Merewether Beach, and show the community what the world looks like through an analytical lens.

The Anditi Women’s Pro will be held at Merewether Beach from 20-26 February 2017.
